In 1819, a sick and elderly Francisco de Goya moves to a secluded country house known as "La Quinta del Sordo". The film is told from the perspective of the house itself (voiced by Maribel Verdú), which observes Goya's struggle with ghosts from his past, his fading mental health, and his physical illnesses. The story explores the painter's isolation, deafness, and psychological turmoil as he creates his infamous "Black Paintings" to exorcise demons.
